Simple Sign Tutorial
- First, open the picture that you will be using. I am going to use this picture for the tutorial. Duplicate the picture twice (Right click on the Background layer>>Duplicate Layer) so that you have 3 identical layers like this.- Set the 'Background copy' layer to Screen with 59% opacity. Set the 'Background copy 2' layer to Overlay with 49% opacity. Flatten the image (Right click on any layer>>Flatten Image).
- Go up to Layer>>New Adjustment Layer>>Color Balance and click OK. Match your settings to this. Then flatten the image again. Now we're going to add brushes so define this brush.
- Make a new layer and set it to Overlay. Use the brush I told you to define and go over it with the picture one or two times using the color black. You can erase some parts if you want. This is how mine looks like so far.
- Now we're going to add color orbs. Make a new layer and set it to Screen. Use this brush from your brushes inventory and add some color orbs onto the picture. Spread them out a little and use different colors if you'd like. This is how mine looks like so far. After doing that, flatten the image again.
- We're going to add some text now which is optional, so you can skip this step if you want. I used the font- Times New Roman, color- black, and added a dropshadow. You can do this however you'd like though.
- To make the picture look better, let's add a simple border. Select the whole picture (CTRL+A) and go up to Edit>>Stroke. Make the width 6px and make the color white. Repeat this step again, but this time make the width 1px and the color black. This is how my final result turned out.
